Using Authify
Terms of Service
Effective date: August 30, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Authify browser extension and related website. By installing or using Authify, you agree to these terms.
The service
Authify stores authenticator accounts in a locally encrypted vault and generates time-based or counter-based verification codes. Optional features include encrypted offline backups, encrypted Google Drive backups, QR transfer, and paid Authify Pro capabilities.
Your responsibilities
- Use Authify only for accounts you are authorized to access.
- Protect your device, master password, and backup passwords.
- Keep recovery codes and an independent recovery method.
- Test migrated accounts before removing another authenticator.
- Comply with applicable laws and third-party service terms.
Password and account recovery
Authify cannot recover forgotten master passwords or backup passwords. Losing your password, device, recovery codes, and backups may permanently prevent access to your authenticator accounts.
Authify Pro and billing
Paid features require an active Authify Pro subscription. Pricing, billing frequency, renewal details, and cancellation options are shown during checkout. Payments and subscription management are provided through ExtensionPay and Stripe. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund completed billing periods except where required by law.
Google Drive
Google Drive backup is optional and requires Google authorization. Availability may depend on Google services, account policies, network access, and continued API access. Disconnecting Google Drive does not delete backup files already stored in your Drive.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse Authify, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, distribute malicious modifications, or use it to violate another person's rights.
Service changes
Features may be updated, improved, limited, or discontinued. We will make reasonable efforts to avoid unnecessary disruption to security and backup functionality.
Disclaimer
Authify is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. No software, storage system, or authentication method can be guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Authify's developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of account access, data, profits, or business opportunities. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
Changes to these terms
Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
